DiPaD’s’ Theory of change is that if individuals, organisations and communities are provided with the necessary
knowledge, information and skills they will be able to participate in making decisions that positively impact
their lives and those of others. This approach has enabled the organization to conduct programs with various
communities, individuals and organizations that have had far-reaching impact on individual and personal
transformation, as well as initiated a process of social change in Kenya.
DiPaD is a non-profit organization in Kenya that aims at empowering and building the capacity of communities to be able to proactively respond to social change. The organizations’ purpose is to empower communities for
transformation change that seeks to create safe spaces for positive narrative on peace, governance, leadership, resilience and sustainability interventions for political and socioeconomic development.
Most of the work is carried out by DiPaD management staff and a group of experienced consultants who work with us on regular basis. We have an established database of specialist consultants in various work fields.

DiPaD has the ability to provide and support high quality programs that focuses on citizen participation on governance and devolution, women economic and political empowerment, Gender Based Violence, leadership development and mentorship for young people and children, workplace conflict resolution and stress management, peacebiulding and development, trauma awareness and resilience, organizational learning and development. Participatory and community learning is our key emphasis and our main approach involves the use of Appreciative Inquiry (AI) strategies to design, facilitate, train and evaluate programs that strengthen local organizations working in vulnerable communities. DiPaD’s’ capacity development and learning programs are tailored to relevant practitioners as well as key social changeagents and organizations.
