As part of our contribution to vision 2030 political pillar, moving to the future as one nation, security, peace-building and conflict management, DiPaD aims at contributing to building stable, safe and resilient communities by implementing strategies to address human security, trauma healing, transforming conflicts, food security, principled leadership and justice for stable societies.

Resilience and Sustainability mandate

Resilience is the process of adapting following an adversity, trauma, tragedy, threats or extreme forms of stress which mostly emanates from individual experience, organizational mishap or community-wide difficult experiences and situations. Nelson Mandela aptly stated that “Do not judge me by my success, judge me by how many times I fell down and got back up again,” when expressing the level at which human being can be able to recover from adversity and weave the path of resilience.

Governance and Leadership mandate

Peaceful societies are created and sustained by positive attitudes, institutions and structures as envisioned by Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 16-peace, justice and strong institutions. The projects envisioned will seek to provide skills on leadership, advocacy and non-violence so that they can be agents of change and influence positive transformation of attitudes, institutions and structures in their communities for peace and harmony.

Quality of Program and Personnel

DiPaD has the ability to provide and support high quality programs that focuses on citizen participation on governance and devolution, women economic and political empowerment, Gender Based Violence, leadership development and mentorship for young people and children, workplace conflict resolution and stress management, peacebiulding and development, trauma awareness and resilience, organizational learning and development. Participatory and community learning is our key emphasis and our main approach involves the use of Appreciative Inquiry (AI) strategies to design, facilitate, train and evaluate programs that strengthen local organizations working in vulnerable communities. DiPaD’s’ capacity development and learning programs are tailored to relevant practitioners as well as key social changeagents and organizations.
